Stainless Steel 347 Angles contain 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and are stabilized by columbium (niobium) and tantalum to avoid precipitation of carbides. This alloy provides tensile strength of the order of 515 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa, with excellent creep and stress rupture resistance. SS 347 is especially useful in environments up to 870°C and can be used for continuous service in high-temperature conditions. It has good retention of mechanical properties and also shows good weldability and formability.
