**Stainless Steel 317 Angle** is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with an approximate composition of 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum. The composition gives it enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in acid situations. It has a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of about 35%. Stainless Steel 317 also has good formability and weldability. In contrast to 317L, this grade contains slightly more carbon, which increases its strength without sacrificing corrosion resistance in high-temperature and corrosive service.
