This type of martensitic stainless steel achieves high hardness after heat treatment, offers moderate corrosion resistance, and boasts good tensile properties. Its mechanical profile features a tensile strength ranging from 700–1000 MPa, a yield strength of about 345 MPa, and hardness levels reaching up to 50 HRC when hardened. Additionally, Stainless Steel 420 retains decent ductility and toughness, especially in its annealed state, and is magnetic in all conditions.
