Inconel 600 Plates and Sheets consist of about 72% nickel, 14–17% chromium, and 6–10% iron with minor proportions of manganese, carbon, and silicon. The alloy has a tensile strength of about 655 MPa and good mechanical properties over a broad temperature range. It is resistant to corrosion by a variety of organic and inorganic substances, possesses high toughness and strength at elevated temperatures, and can be readily welded. Inconel 600 further provides excellent resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion, scaling, and oxidation at high temperatures, and it is suitable for application in acidic or alkaline environments.
