Stainless Steel 201 Channel consists primarily of iron with 16–18% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, 5.5–7.5% manganese, and not more than 0.15% carbon. It possesses satisfactory tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of around 275 MPa, with fair corrosion resistance and very good toughness. The alloy features formability, weldability, and also is wear-resistant, and hence appropriate for numerous mechanical and structural applications. SS 201 is a cheaper version of conventional 300 series stainless steels, with satisfactory mechanical properties in moderately corrosive environments.
