Stainless Steel 317L Channel is an austenitic stainless steel containing low carbon and molybdenum, with a composition of 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and 0.03% maximum of carbon. The low carbon enhances weldability and minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding. It has a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 35%. This material has superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in environments with sulfuric, acetic, and tartaric acids.
