Nickel Alloy 200 is composed of a minimum of 99.6% pure nickel, with a small percentage of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. The alloy has superior resistance to neutral and alkaline salts, caustic alkalis, and dry gases at room temperature. It has satisfactory mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of around 55,000 psi and good ductility and thermal conductivity. Nickel 200 retains its strength and stability from cryogenic temperatures to 600°F (315°C), and it is very resistant to corrosion, particularly in reducing environments. The alloy is also non-magnetic and readily fabricated, welded, and formed.
