Nickel Alloy 201 consists of a minimum of 99.6% pure nickel with up to 0.02% carbon, which contributes better resistance against graphitization at temperatures in excess of 600°F (315°C). This makes it more suitable than Nickel 200 for applications with greater heat. The alloy has superior mechanical properties with good ductility, electrical and thermal conductivities, and around 50,000 psi tensile strength. It is highly resistant to corrosion in caustic alkalis, acidic media, and neutral salt solutions, and is non-magnetic when annealed.
