Nickel Alloy Foils are made of high-purity nickel (up to 99.6% for Nickel 200 and 201), and can contain small amounts of elements such as copper, iron, chromium, or molybdenum based on the particular grade. These foils show great resistance to corrosion in caustic alkalis, neutral and acidic solutions, and high-temperature conditions. Mechanical properties are grade-dependent, but the majority of nickel foils have good ductility, formability, and tensile strength (50,000–70,000 psi), with high electrical and thermal conductivity. Low carbon types such as Nickel 201 show outstanding performance in high-temperature and high-purity conditions.
