Stainless Steel 253MA Channel is an austenitic stainless steel alloy containing iron, 20–22% chromium, 10–12% nickel, and 0.05–0.10% addition of nitrogen and 1.4–2.0% addition of silicon. The additions improve oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength. The strength in tension is approximately 600 MPa, while that in yield is 310 MPa. SS 253MA is suitable for use at temperatures up to 1150°C, with a high resistance to thermal fatigue, carburization, and scaling. It is characterized by the combination of heat resistance and good mechanical strength and oxidation resistance, hence fitting well in harsh environments.
