Stainless Steel 304L Angle is the low-carbon variant of the 304 alloy, with about 18–20% chromium, 8–12% nickel, and a maximum of 0.03% carbon. The lower carbon content increases resistance to intergranular corrosion, particularly after welding. It has about 485 MPa tensile strength, 170 MPa yield strength, and elongation of about 40%. SS 304L has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in a broad variety of environments, including mildly acid and chloride-bearing environments.
