Stainless Steel 316 Angle is an austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. It has a higher resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It provides tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of about 40%. The alloy has very good weldability, formability, and creep resistance. Stainless Steel 316 is non-magnetic in annealed form and retains its mechanical properties over a broad range of temperatures, which makes it suitable for corrosive and pressure applications.
