The NACE MR 0103/0175 HIC Boiler Sheets and Plates are primarily made from carbon steel, featuring low sulfur and controlled phosphorus content to reduce inclusions and boost HIC resistance. We incorporate alloying elements like manganese and silicon to enhance strength and toughness. Typically, these plates provide tensile strength ranging from 485 to 620 MPa and yield strength between 240 and 355 MPa. They undergo normalization or normalized rolling to improve toughness and are rigorously tested for resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking according to NACE specifications, ensuring they are fit for sour gas environments.

Tempering : Notch toughness can be improved by quenched cooling from hot rolling or normalizing by the supplier. If such a faster cooling rate is agreed upon between purchaser and supplier then the steel is also to be tempered at 1200 F.
Applications : Used for weld fabrication of pressure vessels that require improved notch toughness for lower than ambient temperature service.
