**High Manganese Steel Sheet and Plate**, or Hadfield steel, has around 11–14% manganese and 0.9–1.4% carbon content. Its special composition makes it highly tough, tensile strength high (between 850 and 1350 MPa), and excellent in work-hardening. The material becomes harder upon impact and abrasion but grows stronger with repeated use. It is hard in nature yet has good ductility as well as weldability.
