By using a process called quenching, which involves rapid cooling, followed by tempering, or controlled reheating, these plates can achieve impressive tensile strengths from 700 MPa to over 1200 MPa. Their yield strength usually falls between 500 MPa and 1000 MPa, and they can reach hardness levels of up to 400 HB or even more. This treatment not only boosts their ductility and impact resistance but also enhances their ability to withstand abrasion, making them perfect for demanding applications where strength is crucial.
