Stainless Steel 347 Foils have 17–20% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and columbium (niobium) as stabilization agents, with a maximum carbon content of 0.08%. These foils provide tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa and yield strength of 205 MPa. These foils have good creep resistance and oxidation resistance up to 870°C temperature. The addition of niobium inhibits carbide precipitation, thus improving weldability and long-term strength in high-temperature service. SS 347 foils do not loose their mechanical strength and flexibility even when subjected to cyclic thermal loading.
