Stainless Steel 201 Foil is a chromium-nickel-manganese austenitic alloy with about 16–18% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, and 5.5–7.5% manganese. It possesses tensile strength of about 520–680 MPa and yield strength of around 275 MPa. The alloy has good ductility, fair corrosion resistance, and is a cost-effective substitute for SS 304 for low to moderately corrosive environments. Due to its low nickel content, it is a cheap option for non-critical applications.
