304 / 304L Slitting Coil and Stainless Steel Coil contain 18–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel with reduced carbon content in 304L to minimize weld cracking. These grades possess tensile strength of 515–750 MPa and yield strength of 205 MPa, with a minimum elongation of 40%. They exhibit superb corrosion resistance, ductility, and strength over a wide range of temperatures, including cryogenic conditions. The 304L has low carbon content, which reduces precipitation of carbides during welding, thus being suitable where clean weld joints and long operating life are essential.
