MONEL 400 consists of mostly nickel (63%), with copper (28-34%) and trace amounts of iron, manganese, and silicon. This alloy has excellent mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (to 70,000 psi) and superior corrosion resistance in seawater and acidic environments. It has good strength and stability over a broad range of temperatures, from cryogenic temperatures to 1000°F (538°C). Its outstanding weldability and formability make it the perfect choice for applications that need both strength and resistance to hostile environments.
