4140 Steel Sheet and Plate is a chromium-molybdenum steel alloy with high strength, toughness, and good resistance to fatigue. It has a typical chemical composition of 0.38-0.43% Carbon, 0.75-1.00% Manganese, 0.80-1.10% Chromium, and 0.15-0.25% Molybdenum. It has mechanical properties like tensile strength of 850-1000 MPa, yield strength of approximately 655 MPa, and excellent hardenability. The steel can be heat-treated to maximize performance and is thus suited for demanding engineering and structural use.
